Curated by
Edward Lucie-Smith, the exhibition is based on hisrecent publication
Art Tomorrow (2002), a follow up to his 1995 publication,
Art Today. Lucie-Smith has written over 50 books on art and
has been a primary source of information for artists throughout
the world.
The theme of this first exhibition is the human figure: its
political and philosophical associations, and its interaction
with the environment. As a result of the current political
status of the United States, this focus on the human figure
and condition is a conscious effort to create an exchange
of ideas through art.
Exhibition curator, Edward Lucie-Smith, and featured artist,
Judy Chicago, have spent years raising awareness for the topics
surrounding the human body and experience. For over twenty-five
years their individual views and comprehension of the subject
matter have continued to drive audiences to another level
of understanding and participation. |
