Nathan Ring Exhibtion

January 2 - 26, 2013

Nathan Ring is a potter deeply inspired by the Northern California coastline, kayak fishing, and history. His work reflects a fascination with the natural world, drawing on traditional pottery practices and a profound appreciation for the subtle elegance of Japanese tea ware. Dedicated to the harmony of form and function, Nathan has delved into traditional Japanese glazes, particularly Oribe and Shino, while experimenting with various atmospheric firing techniques. Looking ahead, he aims to focus on building and operating wood and soda kilns. Nathan honed his craft at Cosumnes River College under Yoshio Taylor and earned his BFA in Ceramics from the California College of the Arts.
