The Life and Work of Glenn Takai

Glenn Takai was an American ceramic artist. He studied at California State University, Sacramento and at the University of California Davis.

Glenn’s ceramic figures are a powerful narrative. Each sculpture captures an important moment or memory in life. The family is often the focus of Takai’s work, tracing the path of three generations of men: his great grandfather, his father, himself and his brother, and his two sons. Objects, landscapes, animals and faces serve to supplement his narratives.

Glenn has exhibited widely nationally as well as throughout the Sacramento region. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Oakland Museum and the Crocker Art Museum as well as many private collections.
