Adam Forfang - Pattern Recognition

The John Natsoulas Gallery is proud to be hosting the newest exhibition of Adam Forfang’s incredible paintings. Come see it between July 21 and August 20, 2021.

Adam Forfang is a native to the Bay Area, trained at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he earned a BFA. Shortly thereafter, he transitioned from a decorated student to a professional artist and teacher. Forfang has recently garnered the attention of the art press, having graced periodicals such as American Art Collector, Southwest Art, and ZYZZYVA to name a few.

Forfang's approach to painting is eclectic both in style and subject matter. His playful imagery and vivid palette of saturated colors reflect a young man's point of view with an already accomplished painting style. His clever arrangement of objects, striking use of color, and witty approach to his subjects truly set him apart.

His style in more recent years has transitioned into what he calls “Compressions.” Drawing from color theory and the aesthetics of pixelated images, Forfang transforms still-lifes, landscapes, other scenes of every-day-life into optical illusions. His charming paintings defy the eye and remind you of the increasingly digital world of today.
