Arthur Gonzales was born in 1954 in Sacramento California. He received his Bachelor’s Degree at Sacramento State University and two MFA’s in painting and sculpture from Sacramento State University and UCDavis, respectively.
Dark, somber and foreboding, Arthur Gonzalez’s works encourage serious deliberation and reflection on the relationship between personal concerns and world issues. Raw in form, lacking in smoothness and rough in finish, the sculptures give glimpses of a conversation or a contemplation in progress.
A selection of his exhibits include: The Susan Cummins Gallery, Mill Valley, California; John Elder Gallery, New York, New York; Phyllis Kind Gallery, New York, New York; Robert Kidd Gallery, Birmingham, Michigan and the Sharpe Gallery, New York, New York.
