Bryan Yerian - Escape
January 2 - February 2, 2019
“I view art as a byproduct of a process; the pursuit of preserving a moment in time.”
The John Natsoulas Gallery is very proud to present a completely unique installation exhibition by sculptor and ceramicist Bryan Yerian. Taking over the entire first-floor gallery, Yerian presents a totally unique vision and transports viewers into his stark world of cast porcelain and steel drums.
A native of California, Bryan Yerian was born in Santa Ana County and grew up in Yucca Valley, CA. In 1999, he moved to Arcata, CA to attend Humboldt State University, and in 2003 received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Arts. That same year he was hired as the Studio Technician for the Humboldt State Sculpture program. In 2005, he was accepted into San Jose State University’s Spatial Arts program, and in 2008, Bryan received his Master of Fine Arts degree. In August of 2008, he was hired as a fulltime Art Faculty at Lake Tahoe Community College, and is presently head of the Three-Dimensional Art program and has taught a diverse breadth of theory, 2D, and 3D art classes. Bryan has begun to exhibit widely, and his artwork has been selected for exhibition by such jurors as Sherman Hall, Senior Editor of Ceramics Monthly, and Michael Wilson, Senior Editor of Art Forum.
