In this exhibition, Jose Manuel Arevalo Blanco, enters an intimate territory where memory and play intertwine in a gesture of delicate evocation. Through beaches, landscapes, faded umbrellas and playful objects that float like vestiges of a distant childhood, the artist articulates a visual poetic that transcends mere representation, activating a deeply emotional experience in the viewer deeply rooted in what was lived.
The John Natsoulas Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by acclaimed Northern Californian artist Avery Palmer: His haunting compositions brim with oddities —hybrid creatures, enigmatic objects, and spectral human figures— that invite viewers to step into the rich terrain of the subconscious. With this new body of work, Palmer continues his exploration of human consciousness and the complexities of individual experience in a shifting world.
This exhibition honors the legacy of that day that marks one of the most important moments in Beat history and the place where it took place. The artists, poets, and writers who shaped the 6 Gallery would all go on to illustrious careers, but their experiences at the 6 Gallery remain as some of the most powerful reminders of the special, interdisciplinary connections of the Beat Generation.
